At Hampton High, one of our core strategic goals is to become a leader in enhancing the educational experience. We believe that all our pupils deserve an excellent education that prepares them for an increasingly digitalised future.

The Department for Education is championing a digital revolution in schools, with Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson outlining plans to “embrace this great new technological era to modernise our education system, support our teachers, and deliver for our students.” 

It is clear from research that innovation has significantly improved learning experiences for pupils, and we want to ensure that all pupils have equal opportunities to access technology that fosters creativity, independence, and success, both in school and at home.  

AiEd Certified Explorer School

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded AiEd Certified Explorer Status.

This award celebrates our commitment to the safe, ethical and purposeful use of artificial intelligence across our whole-school community, ensuring that innovation always supports high quality learning and strong pastoral care. As an Explorer School, we are recognised for:

• Preparing pupils and staff for an AI powered future through thoughtful, practical integration of new tools.
• Taking a responsible, structured approach that prioritises safety, integrity and wellbeing.
• Leading the way in our sector, contributing to emerging best practice in how schools adopt and model the use of AI.

Holding Explorer status reflects our belief that AI should enhance, not replace, great teaching, curiosity, creativity and human connection. It also signals our willingness to move early, learn boldly, and innovate responsibly, always with our pupils’ futures at the heart of every decision we make.

Microsoft Teams

As part of our commitment to equip pupils for a digitalised world, we use Microsoft Teams to provide a seamless connection between school and home. Teams allows pupils to easily access lesson materials, submit assignments, and communicate with teachers, ensuring they stay engaged with their studies. Each subject, and often each class, has its own dedicated Team with bespoke channels, allowing pupils to quickly find subject-specific resources and assignments. With secure file storage, pupils can access materials whenever needed. We are committed to accessibility for all, ensuring every pupil can stay on track with their learning and receive support at any time.

iPads for Years 7 

We are excited to announce that we will be rolling out the use of iPads for pupils in Years 7 from September 2026. This initiative will provide our learners with the tools they need to access a range of educational resources and engage with interactive learning. Technology in the classroom will support more personalised learning, foster creativity and independence, and improve access to digital resources for all our pupils.

Each pupil will have access to an iPad configured with the necessary apps and tools for their classes.Teachers will provide guidance on how to use iPads effectively as part of their lessons and will be using iPads for their own lesson planning and preparation.

All iPads will be managed and monitored by the school to ensure they are used for educational purposes only, with school safety features within the devices and a limited number of educational apps allowed.
